What's better than After-Christmas sales?! Sadly enough, I would be the first to admit that there isn't much. However, this event makes me marvel at how extreme people can get when it comes to it. Some of you may have heard of the mayhem that went on on the 8th floor aka the shoe floor of Saks Fifth Avenue on the 26th of December. Saks had to close their shoe department at 11:30 AM because of overcrowding and disorderly conduct. As frantic as it sounds, it seems to me like a smart move before anyone was actually hurt as “civility quickly deteriorated” (think Walmart on Black Friday). Still, this seems like it came right out of Confessions of a Shopaholic. Yet, it is absolutely real and ridiculous. I mean, where are people’s priorities? (Yet somehow, I wonder if I will be one of those crazy ladies in the future…) Oh, and I did make a little visit on the 27th to see if it was still busy, and indeed there was a line to access the shoe department, but luckily no signs of emerging catfights.
Anyways, I hope this article amuses you all before we go back to school. http://articles.nydailynews.com/2011-12-26/news/30560008_1_day-after-christmas-sales-shoppers-shoe
On a more serious note, here is an article about overzealous shoppers at Walmart: http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/retail/story/2011-11-25/black-friday-walmart/51399030/1
